Would Washington and Jefferson fight for the Confederacy?

Virginia natives bred and born who both held slaves, look in my eyes and tell me if they had lived in the era of the Civil War, they would not have fought for the South. Why do Union lovers still celebrate their memory? Shouldn't we instead acknowledge that the South winning would have yielded a better country than we have now?
