Husband wants to convert toddler bed back to crib?

Is he afraid she'll get out of bed and roam the house and get into trouble while he's sleeping? You could put an alarm on her door and when she leaves it will go off. Or he could just sleep on her floor while she sleeps in the bed. Putting the railing back up would not be safe, at almost 2 she could probably climb out resulting in falling.
