The best granite color for a kitchen?

I have white woodwork in my kitchen and dark wood floors. We are planning on putting new stainless steel appliances in with the kitchen updates. I am nervous about picking the wrong color granite. Does anyone have suggestions of granite colors that would work well with this color scheme?
